5 Trade Show Side Hustle Ideas

It's trade show season! Being an event organizer myself I thought I'd share five of my favorite side hustle ideas you can do while at a trade show.

If you aren't already attending a trade show, have no fear. Many of these side husltes will get you in the trade show for free.

Exhibit Booth Staffer

Brands need help showing off their product/service in their exhibit booths. The brand companies often don't have these types of employees on their regular payroll and would rather not take them off their core function. So they outsource the role to a staffing agency.

If you don't mind being on your feet all day and like interacting with customers, this could be the gig for you. Jobs are going for $20 per hour with agencies like ATN Event Staffing. Once you're in the trade show, you can take advantage of all the networking to look for your next marketing or sales side hustle.

Photographer/Videographer

Photography and events go hand in hand. So if you're creative with a camera take your skills to the event. Offer to work for the event organizer for a pass and a fee. They may need candids, photobooth, etc.

Better yet, offer to work for any of the brands exhibiting at the event. You can take pictures/video of them interacting with customers and create a highlight reel for their future marketing efforts. Be sure to get approval from the event organizer for this one.

Freelance Reporter

Many publications want to cover events in their industry, but they might not have the time or resources to cover them all.

Your job is to find the media outlets that cover your industry and contact them about being their reporter on the ground at the event. Ask them for a fee to produce the piece and to cover your basic expenses.

If they say yes, then inform the conference organizer that you'd like to cover the event in exchange for media credentials. If it's a relevant publication they won't turn you down.

Social Media Marketer

Events are the perfect time to capture content for social. If you're great on the socials then consider attending an event as a social media marketing freelancer - working for the organizer, an exhibiting brand, or a speaker/attendee.

You'd be surprised by how many people do their own social media but can't seem to find the time during the event itself.

Event Service

Last but not least, event venues don't always have staff onsite for all the service needs required from the trade show.

Temporary service agencies fill this need and you could pick up a nice weekend gig working for one of these agencies.

The bottom line is that if you like being around events and learning new things, you can easily drum up a quick side hustle to earn some extra cash and bring more opportunity into your life.

One of the biggest buzzwords since the invention of the internet is “passive income”.

That phrase might bring to mind a bunch of different images for you like scammy informercials, questionable best-selling books with too-good-to-be-true promises of getting rich quick, or even the more modern ‘YouTube bros’ in front of a rented lambo or mansion.

Our entire culture is yelling at us that we’re working way too hard and earning way too little.

But no one is talking about the dark side of passive income without purpose.

Because, frankly, it doesn’t sell like the idea of getting paid to sit on a beach with your toes in the sand.

My friend Bob Lotich has a bit of a different take…

After 15 years of experiencing the ups-and-downs of success, failure, and ultimately rebuilding a God-honoring passive income business, he’s found that generating passive income can be an absolutely essential tool in advancing the Kingdom and living out your God-given purpose.

That’s why, starting on Sep. 27th at 7:30 CT, he will be going live for a 3-day Passive Income with Purpose workshop!

This workshop will help you get your first taste of passive income with purpose – even if you have no experience or a crazy busy schedule.

He will be selling this workshop for $97 in the future, but for a limited time you get access for FREE.

Inside, you’ll learn:

  • The 4 myths & the honest truth about passive income that no one is talking about.
  • Why Bob believes that passive income (when done right) is actually God’s idea.
  • How, in as little as one hour a week, you can begin creating some passive income.
  • How to avoid the biggest mistakes made when pursuing passive income.
  • The simple way to begin crafting your passive income blueprint (with Bob’s HI/TF Strategy tool) so you can confidently know you are heading in the right direction.
  • Specific examples and LIVE demos with practical steps to kickstart your passive income journey.

I’ll be there and I think you’re going to love it, too!
